Sweet Tea and Casseroles

Just in case you don’t have a southerner in your life, which I can’t say I’m sorry about enough, I’m going to let you in on a little secret…

There are a few things that we take VERY seriously, and at the top of that list are:

Sweet Tea

Casseroles

 Monograms

Not only do we take it very seriously, we know, without a shadow of a doubt, that ours is the best. Do not question this, do not try to change our minds. Just know, you do not want to deal with a southerner on this issue. Just sit, and let us feed you and always, ALWAYS, ask for a refill of our fabulous tea.

We also like to label our things…clothes, towels, Yeti’s, JEWELRY. Things are just better when they are personalized. It’s a fact, that’s one of the reasons we love customizing jewelry. It can say anything you’d like. ANYTHING. You can truly make it yours…initials, dates, that super adorable pet name you have for your hubby, your fur baby’s name, your kids, grandbabies, favorite quote. There are so many ways to make it yours!

And….so you can make MINE, I’m going to share with you how to make the best sweet tea and my favorite casserole recipe 🙂 You can make them together. You get extra southern points for making biscuits, cornbread or corn on the cob with them 🙂 If you make a turnip greens, you can move to my town and we will elect you mayor 🙂

Southern Sweet Tea

1 1/2 to 2 cups of sugar

3 family size tea bags (I prefer Red Diamond, but you can choose your favorite)

water

Put your sugar in your 1 gallon pitcher, boil your tea bags in 3 cups of water, once it’s come to a boil for a full minute, pour the tea over the sugar and stir (be sure to take your tea bags out before you stir and you want it to be hot when you put it over the sugar as this makes the sugar dissolve into complete perfection). Then you can fill your pitcher up with cold water. Serve over a LOT of ice. I like mint in mine, and some people like lemon. I am not one of these people.
